  • The buttons can allegedly endure a 30 million tap life cycle, exceeding the industry standard.
  • Tournament mode deactivates start and back buttons.
  • There are downloadable drivers for non-Steam games.
  • The base is composed of anti-slipping rubber.
  • There is internal storage for two extra buttons, a screw-lock cable, and a screwdriver.
  • Artwork and color customization are possible.
  • The arcade stick was praised by the fighting community members Xian, MarkMan, and Kenny Omega.

Performance

Razer’s ball top has always been notorious for spinning loose during play, and there is no difference with this installment. Of course, it does not spin all the way off, but it is still a source of discomfort. Moves can still be pulled off with relative ease regardless.

While there is no input lag with the buttons, not hitting the buttons in the dead center can be quite punishing as hitting them on the edge will slightly tilt them without even registering the intended input.

Hardware

Razer hit a homerun by sloping the front of the unit ever so slightly, providing the wrists with comfort, especially when compared to its predecessor. However, the rubber cable struggles to fit in the provided compartment in the back, sometimes leaving the door slightly open.

Opening the chassis requires hard work as a total of 16 screws need to be taken out in the process. The tradeoff is that the inside of the unit is quite intuitive.

Appearance

The Panthera Evo does not step out of the comfort zone much with the design this time around as it is highly reminiscent of the former design.

On the other hand, the design has enough nuisance to keep the arcade stick looking interesting, standing out from the rest, and representing the signature Razer look without being all too distracting.
