Quick Facts

Performance

While joystick clicking sounds are good for feedback, they are overdone with this arcade stick. For stability, suction cups were implemented, but they are too strong as they can sometimes be tough to detach from a surface. The need for suction cups could have been eliminated by increasing the weight to the point of maximizing stability without sacrificing portability. At least there are no latency or dead zone issues. Although you should not be attempting to use this arcade stick for non-fighting games, it is worth noting that the PXN-0082 is not responsive enough for games like sidescrollers.

Hardware

While the build itself is fine, native controllers are needed when playing on major consoles. You need to perfect the order of what you turn on first for this to actually work. It is even more of a hassle on the PlayStation since you need to turn it on and then turn on the arcade stick without turning on the controller.

Appearance

The only interesting stylistic choice that PXN made with this arcade stick is the inclusion of rubbery wrist space on one side only, probably to limit weight. Besides that, the button colors are interesting to say the least…

Conclusion

A clicky joystick and aggressive suction cups should not interfere with your match’s outcome. Connecting the arcade stick to a console should be a walk in the park with some practice, and the aesthetics are not that shabby.

  • No dead zones
  • Rubber pad
