Introduction
Reminiscent of the Cross Up, the FightBox M8 hitstick has a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joystick and 12 Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons. The four additional buttons are directional buttons to be used alongside the joystick. There is a macro recording function, so you can customize the four buttons using the record button.
Performance
One of the main appeals of the M8 is its Sanwa parts, which are known for responsivity and durability. Sanwa buttons activate with a light press but should not activate by accident. Their joysticks are snappy and return back to neutral in a smooth way.
About the Baolian 30 mm auxiliary buttons:
- Two buttons on the left for start and select
- Two buttons on the right for record and turbo
- Four buttons on the back for home, mode, L3, and R3
The SOCD cleaning modes, thanks to jumpers on the internal control board, include:
- Up + down = up
- Left + right = neutral
- The second input is the priority if a collision occurs.
Hardware
The case is metal, and there is a matte acrylic panel on top. At the bottom, you should be able to find four anti-slipping pads. Compatibility is achieved through the Zero Delay Arcade USB Encoder. The USB cable is type B to A.
The size of the M8 makes it convenient for both desk and lap play. Its weight is moderate, allowing it to be carried around in tournaments if needed, and it should not slide around on your desk during play.
Appearance
Even the color scheme of the M8 is reminiscent of the Cross Up. The controller is mostly black, except for the white directional buttons. The three small buttons on the upper left part of the top panel emit a red light. That said, the acrylic of the M8 may attract smudges, sweat, and dead skin, so have a cloth handy.
By the way, you can add some custom artwork to your M8 if you like, and we at The Arcade Stick have a custom art service that can beautify your M8 further.

The FightBox M8 is a worthy contender if you are looking for a hitstick to take your game to the next level.
