- There is LED.
- This is a spinoff of the Qanba Obsidian.
Performance
The joystick and buttons of the Q3 Pearl Arcade Fighting Stick are farther apart than the original Obsidian. Furthermore, the buttons are curved in the Noir layout. The anti-slip rubber pads at the bottom provide extra grip when the unit is placed on a lap. The performance is quite good in general, and there are no complaints.
Hardware
The Pearl is a big piece of equipment but not as big as the Dragon. Nonetheless, it is still wide enough not to fit comfortably into most backpacks.
The arcade stick’s weight is fine when it comes to carrying the arcade stick and placing it on one’s lap. If needed, one can carry the arcade stick using the sides.
The cable goes into a stiff compartment, and accessing the arcade stick’s interior requires that you unscrew the base. The button connectors are not easy to remove as a tool would likely be required.
Appearance
The Pearl looks like a pearl! The surface has a glossy white finish, and the metallic sides are silver. Fingerprint smudges won’t likely appear on the surface in addition to scratches while transporting the arcade stick.
The LED lights are beautiful. Qanba is to be appreciated for providing options to have the LED on all the time or only when pressing buttons.
With no plexiglass, the artwork is not easy to swap. In any case, our artist, Gilbert Han, can draw you an original design. Check out his Dan illustration with the Pearl template:
Conclusion
