The LightFox, also known as the Light Fighting Box, is an optical controller with all buttons and a smaller size. Made of aluminum CNC, it strays away from the usual 3D printed or acrylic controllers of a similar kind. However, there is a chamfered acrylic top plate (held by only four screws), allowing an artwork insert, and we at The Arcade Stick can provide our custom art service if you like.

More about the optical nature of the LightFox: there are low profile Keychron optical switches that are hot swappable between eight switch variants. As for the keycaps, they are injection molded and convex. Also, it is easy to swap between different colors due to the durable MX stems.

Eight auxiliary buttons allow you access to useful in-game features, and it was made sure that they are big enough not to hurt your fingers during pressing:

  1. L3/LS
  2. R3/RS
  3. Touch
  4. PS/guide
  5. Share/back
  6. Options/start
  7. Func1
  8. Func2

As for the sliding switches, they are for LS/DP/RS, SOCD, and lockout. There are two RGB LEDs per action button as well as player indicators, and there is an OLED screen to view inputs in real time in addition to seeing the current mode.

Powered by the open source GP2040-CE firmware, you can reconfigure your LightFox through a web configurator. Would you like PlayStation 5 compatibility? Speedy Labs offers a dongle to do so.

Regarding the USB-C cable, it is the right angle kind and has Velcro that makes it easier to anchor the cable to the case’s loop. The USB port is located in the center back, and the EXT port for the dongle is in the back left.

Bonuses, aside from reference documentation, include a zipper carrying case with a handle and a 2 mm hex wrench. Moreover, there is a silicone anti-slip pad down yonder with full coverage.
