The Nacon Daija was originally developed in collaboration with French female professional player, Kayane. It has been rereleased on the PlayStation 5, this time in white. A black edition is also available for the Xbox Series X, and it looks different than the original Daija.
As this arcade stick is officially licensed by Sony, you can expect it to work on next gen consoles, such as the PlayStation 6, after this console generation ends, so it is likely a smart investment.
With a textured palm rest, a Sanwa joystick and buttons in the Vewlix layout make a comeback as well as an additional Korean joystick. A customization app allows you to create your own profiles.
The Sanwa buttons have just the right amount of depth to them so that there is feedback with each press but not too much travel time to the point of reducing response time. The joystick’s sound is loud enough to provide feedback but not loud enough to be distracting or give away a player’s actions when playing alongside an opponent.
The weighty arcade stick is optimal to be placed on a table or into a custom arcade cabinet. As for the ball top and bat top, they can easily be removed and replaced as well due to a screw on-system. The printed circuit board (PCB), however, may or may not be removable.
Opening the lid of the arcade stick is in fact easy as claimed. There are two buttons on the sides of the arcade stick that can be pressed to pop open the lid. Two tools are to be found within the easy-to-open arcade stick. One tool is a hex screwdriver. There is also space to store additional pieces and tools.
Featured are a detachable USB A-to-C cable, 3.5 mm audio jack, PS button, profile button, and lock toggle. The toggles and buttons on the right side include but are not limited to:
The moment the Daija is unboxed, it is clear that it is crafted with quality material. The colors in addition to the stock artworks are beyond sleek, and the LED is the icing on the cake.
Available are three beautiful faceplate options, but if you would like custom artwork for your Nacon Daija, our artist, Carlos Martinez, can help you with that. For example, check out his Hololive artwork that was fitted for a Nacon Daija:
