Quick Facts

The Sunga G5 is a clone of the Victrix Pro FS. It is available in lever and leverless formats.

Performance

The joystick is the Sanwa JLF, known for its light tension, responsivity, and durability. The Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons, which are in the Vewlix layout, share similar characteristics, with fast actuation as well as that snappy sound we have grown to love over the past decade or so.

The main difference between the G5 and its Victrix counterpart is the lack of a sloped wrist resting space. On the bright side, the paint makes your wrists less prone to feeling cold during play, the latter of which can happen with bare metallic surfaces. Also, there is one anti-slip pad per bottom side of the G5, with the total number being two.

The function buttons, which light up, are for:

  • Turbo
  • L3
  • R3
  • PS
  • LS/DP/RS
  • Light
  • Touch
  • Share
  • Options

The light switch is for the light that is supposed to come out of the sides and is available in different colors. As for the touchpad, it is just for show, but there is a touch button.

Hardware

The G5 is made of durable aluminum alloy. It runs on the Raspberry Pi Pico. The USB-B port comes out of the center back. The cable is zip tied, braided, and can be stored in a bottom compartment. You are eight screws away from accessing the cramped interior. There are also carrying handles.

You may experience an eight minute timeout on the PlayStation and have to look up a workaround online. In the worst case, consider swapping out the PCB if you can navigate the limited space within the G5. An added bonus would be additional compatibility. Otherwise, PC compatibility should be fine.

Appearance

The G5’s sandblasted paint is thick compared to the Victrix, and it exudes an aura of scuff resistance. Your vendor of choice may offer to laser etch your G5 for you. Some of the possible colors include:

  • Black (glossy)
  • Black (matte)
  • Blue
  • Cyan
  • Green
  • Purple
  • Rosy
  • Silver
  • White
  • Yellow
