Introduction
The Rushbox 2 is a stickless controller that has six more buttons than usual, allowing you different options depending on your game of choice.
Performance
Running on the well known combination of RP2040 and GP2040-CE, the Rushbox 2 responds quickly with its 1,000 Hz polling rate. Furthermore, the buttons feel good.
The Rushbox 2’s buttons range in size, roughly between 20 and 25 mm. The button layout is supposed to both cater to smaller hands and minimize fatigue if you have larger hands.
Admittedly, the button on the lower right can be hard to reach. In any case, you can take out the buttons you do not want with just your fingers. That said, the Rushbox 2’s layouts are called:
- Standard
- Palm style
- Center & palm
- 15 buttons
As for function buttons, the Rushbox 2 has six of them. It also has a touchpad. In addition to SOCD cleaning, there is a tournament mode to lock unneeded buttons. By default, start and home are disabled, making your tournament career more promising. The other function buttons are for select, Fn, L3, and R3.
The switches are hot swappable, and for your convenience, there is an included tool to take them out. Otherwise, you may be glad to know that the Rushbox 2’s switches require less actuation force than the first Rushbox.
Hardware
The Rushbox 2 is slim and A4 sized. It consists of components like aluminum and matte acrylic. The anti-slip grip gets the job done, and there is a curved wrist rest for you to enjoy a cozy experience.
The USB-C port of the Rushbox 2 is for the cable, and the USB-A port is for a compatibility enhancing dongle to use the controller with more consoles. In addition, the OLED display screen lets you know information from your inputs to the current mode.
Appearance
The Rushbox 2 has a unique shape, with the lower part being the most unique. Also, the cable is black, fitting the color scheme. The icing on the cake is that the controller has LED that shines through the body’s sides, making it stand out.
With customizable art, the Rushbox 2 can look the way you want it to, and we at The Arcade Stick can offer you our custom artwork service.
