Introduction

Certain Deth is a Detroit-based outfit that provides custom enclosures, such as the CD-X-HS, CD-150, and CD-180. The CD-X in particular is its flagship 18″ model.

Whether you are looking for directional inputs in the form of keys, buttons, or a joystick, Certain Deth has got you covered. Certain Deth also offers full builds, allowing you to choose the buttons, custom wiring sleeves, PCB installation, and more.

Performance

With a mixture of 24 mm and 30 mm button holes in the community favorite Noir layout, you can go for the compatible button brand of your choice to optimize performance. Even if you are a key aficionado, you can go for the keys of your choice as well, and that includes joysticks too.

Consider Sanwa buttons that provide durability and responsivity, with travel distance that is far enough to prevent accidental presses but not far enough to take a long time to register an input. For keys, you might fancy PBT keycaps that are 3D printed, light, and with a bit of texture to them.

Hardware

The CD-X has a modular bracket system in order to fine tune the enclosure to your needs. Also included are a custom aluminum mid-plate for support and a lever mounting system.

To customize bracket placement, there are handles with a multipoint mounting system, and the quick-release bottom plates that are magnetic provide easy interior access. There are also rubberized grips.

Here are some of the accessory options for the shoulder bracket mounting points:

  • Shoulder strap
  • Keychain/plug
  • Cable management brackets
  • Air-tag tracking bracket

To close off the enclosure, there is at least one trunk plate. There is also a PCB bracket. Regarding secondary buttons, there are 24 mm button holes for start, select, PS, touchpad, and spare buttons.

Appearance

Certain Deth makes no sacrifices in the aesthetics department. With colors that include blackout and snowfall (black and white respectively), your unit can even come with differently colored shoulder brackets.

With some mixing and matching of key, button, and/or joystick colors, you may end up having the most impressive looking case at your locals!

Conclusion

Certain Deth offers a variety of unique cases for those who prefer to engage in battle with keys, buttons, or a joystick.
