Overview
The “S” in Punk Workshop Leverless S possibly means “standard” as this is probably one of Punk Workshop’s earlier models. It comes in many layouts, and their primary difference is where the L3 & R3 buttons are located.
One of the layouts has its directional buttons in the WASD format, and if you prefer joysticks, the Punk Workshop FightStick features the same case as well.
Back to the Leverless S, the number of face buttons can range from 12 to 14 buttons. Needless to say, this controller features Punk Workshop buttons.
Another detail that is needless to say is that the Leverless S has SOCD cleaning for tournament legality, so if you are a tournament player, you are probably interested in this.
The function buttons are fully sized and located on the left & right sides of the Leverless S. The four function buttons on the left side are described as “standby” buttons. As for the four function buttons on the right side, they are for:
- Share
- Option
- Touchpad
- PlayStation
For compatibility purposes, one option you can go for when ordering the Leverless S is the Brook P5 Plus PCB, which provides you access to PlayStation 5 fighting games, the Nintendo Switch, PC, and more. That is in addition to Punk Workshop’s proprietary PKB chip with less compatibility options, though this option is still appreciated.
This black controller has an interesting appearance. Namely, it looks like it has top and bottom lids. This design also makes it harder for you to accidentally press the function buttons. This is only one of the many reasons you should consider the Leverless S if you are in the market for something unique.
