Introduction
The Mayflash F700 Elite is a wireless arcade stick with Bluetooth that has a 1,000 mAh battery which can last up to 18 hours after a 3.5 hour charge, so you can enjoy a gaming marathon. Otherwise, a wired connection is possible too.
The F700 Elite is similar in design to previous Mayflash arcade sticks, but there are some differences, such as a knob on the top panel to switch between consoles. The labels indicate:
- PS5
- PS4
- PS3
- Retro
- Apple
- DInput
- XInput
- Switch
- Android
Performance
The main improvement of the F700 Elite over the original F700 is the inclusion of Sanwa parts, meaning a Sanwa JLF joystick and Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons.
The F700 Elite’s joystick springs back nicely into the neutral position when you let go of it, and the buttons have an optimal travel distance, so you do not need too much force to trigger them. By the way, there is plenty of space between the joystick and buttons for your comfort.
In any case, the F700 Elite can be modded, such as if you would like to install Seimitsu parts. Does that mean you can install a Korean joystick too? Well, you can, but make sure it has a low collar or else you would need to do some extensive modding in the lab.
That said, no noticeable input delay was detected when testing the F700 Elite, and that is whether we are talking about wired or wireless play.
As for the improvement of the F700 Elite over the F500 Elite, the arcade stick is wider this time, making it more comfortable on your lap if you like to play that way.
Another point is that the F700 Elite is slightly heavier than the F500 Elite. In fact, the decent weight of the arcade stick means it should not slide around during play, especially due to the anti-slip pad that covers the entire bottom.
On a closing note regarding the performance, the F700 Elite has a headphone jack in addition to a microphone mute button, both of which can be found on the front panel. These features can help you stay in the zone during play.
Hardware
An interesting hardware aspect about the F700 Elite is how the left panel has a hinged door that reveals a wireless receiver, which has its own small compartment. This compartment is where you can also find the USB-C cable.
That aside, you are six screws away from unscrewing the F700 Elite’s bottom to access its internals. On that note, the internals are organized, and the wiring is neat, making modding easier.
Conveniently, the F700 Elite has button labels for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. Here is what you can also find on the top panel:
- Sync LED
- Turbo LED
- Home/power LED
- Mode switch
- D-pad
- Connection switch
- Sync
- Turbo
- Share/select/create
- Touchpad
- Home
- Options/start
Note that most PlayStation 5 fighting games should work with the F700 Elite. As for Xbox Series X compatibility, the Mayflash Magic-X would be needed.
About turbo, it seems that the F700 Elite’s turbo speeds were set with fighting games in mind, not games like shoot ’em ups, for example. Then again, Mayflash’s target audience is probably fighting gamers.
Appearance
The F700 Elite has a sleek look with colors that include black and beige. Over the years, this has become Mayflash’s color scheme for its Elite line. As for the arcade stick’s shape, it looks like a rectangle with pleasantly round corners.
The art of the F700 Elite is customizable, and we at The Arcade Stick can provide you our artwork service. In fact, we have had plenty of experience desiging art for Mayflash arcade sticks before.
The truth of the matter is you would mainly have to take off the F700 Elite’s cover, slide your printed art under it, and put the cover back on. Keep in mind that the buttons have to be uninstalled and reinstalled as well.
With that being said, here is an example of F700 artwork by our graphic designer, Petar Mitic, who can make art for your arcade stick to make it represent you:
