Introduction

With the tagline of “small W’s fuel greatness”, the Mini Dub is a smaller version of the 4TW by jonyfraze. The primary difference is that the edges are mostly straight.

The Mini Dub’s layouts include 6gawd joystick and 6gawd all-button. As for the name of the controller, “Dub” refers to the letter W, which is featured in 4TW (or “for the win”).

Performance

Your industry standard parts from Sanwa to Neutrik can fit the Mini Dub, so you can expect precise inputs as well as a USB passthrough that keeps your cable in place. Furthermore, the foam bottom cushions keep the controller stable.

Regarding Sanwa parts themselves, they are known for their responsivity and durability. For example, Sanwa joysticks are smooth and spring back to the neutral position in a fluid motion when you let go of them.

As for Sanwa buttons, they have an optimal travel distance, so you do not have to press too hard for an input to register, but you should also not find yourself pressing any buttons by mistake when you rest your fingers on them.

The acrylic of the Mini Dub is of the high quality expected, especially due to the standard set by previous jonyfraze controllers like the 4TW, BnB, and Espada. So, you should not expect the top panel to flex while you rest your hands on it to play your favorite fighting game.

Hardware

The Mini Dub comes with assembly and mounting hardware, but you would have to acquire the other parts yourself. You see, wiring the controller requires expert skills, especially for the all-button layout. The same applies to cable management and modding. That is due to the small size of the controller.

You might have an easier time going for low profile wires to make it less difficult to shut the Mini Dub’s case. As for the three side buttons, which have a small 12 mm size, any loose connection may cause the wires to disconnect, so consider using some form of strong adhesive to keep them intact at all times.

Appearance

The Mini Dub has a simple shape. It can be described as rectangular with slanted corners. Its beauty, however, lies in the fact that the buttons can be of different colors or even transparent.

Transparent buttons can show off custom art better, and we at The Arcade Stick offer an art service to make the customization process easier for you. In fact, check out one of our artists’ work for the Mini Dub. These were done by our Milford Peynado, who can serve you as well:
