Since its entry into the world of leverless controllers, Haute42 has been putting out awesome release after awesome release, but this time, its ambitions are even stronger.

The Haute42 X16 revealed on platforms like Reddit looks to have a modular design comprised of three main modules:

  1. Upper directional buttons
  2. Lower directional buttons
  3. Attack buttons

So, you can switch out those individual modules for something else. For example, you can have analog sticks at the bottom. As for the WASD buttons, you can switch them out for WASD keys. Furthermore, you can rotate the WASD module to find the angle most comfortable for you. You have about 15° to 20° of rotation.

Instead of WASD, documentation shows that there are also modules with buttons without rims as well as modules with Japanese and Korean joysticks!

With that being said, do note that the X16 is a machined aluminum controller with an injection-molded plastic bottom. It is black with golden buttons that have rims. Also, the controller comes with its own black case that has a zipper. However, the sense of style does not end here…

The X16 also features LED, such as in the button labels as well as what looks like light underneath the controller when set on a surface.

Needless to say, the onboard screen is back, probably showing your button presses live as well as the input, directional, and SOCD cleaning modes.

Some of the X16’s function button labels read:

  • Home
  • Back
  • Start

In summary, Haute42 fans and newcomers alike should definitely consider the X16 that adds a new dimension of customization to the reputable company’s line of controllers.
