The Alpha is a DIY enclosure you can buy in different layouts and sizes to suit your needs. The sizes include (from smallest to largest):

- Alpha Grande
In addition to size differences, the Alpha EX and Alpha Grande editions can include up to nine function buttons instead of just five. You can consider grabbing the Grande for yourself if you are an adult and the EX for someone younger you may be living with.
Performance
Since the Alpha is a raw enclosure, its main performance element by default is its wrist resting space, which is sloped for your comfort. Also because this is a DIY enclosure, you can spend as much or as little as you want to get the result you wish for.

You can just remove the Alpha’s top panel, pull out a skirt, and put another one in its place. These skirts can accommodate:

Whenever you get a controller nowadays, you might be afraid that it needs too much unscrewing to open it up—but not the Alpha. In fact, the enclosure has a hinge for you to easily access the internals, which is where you can store something too.
By the way, would you like to carry your Alpha around like a bag? If so, then you may be glad to know that the enclosure has not one but two strap connection points, meaning that this enclosure would be a good choice if you do not own any other controller with straps.

Appearance
The visual uniqueness of the Alpha lies in its edges, namely the back as well as the left and right sides—helping you stand out.
