Major companies started embracing the leverless format, whether we are talking about the Razer Kitsune or Qanba Sapphire. In this case, Hori is offering you a leverless controller, the Hori NOLVA, with 16 fully sized buttons.
The NOLVA’s additional buttons can be removed if you do not need them. You also get six function buttons, a touchpad, and a toggle.
The buttons of the NOLVA come with proprietary switches. To prevent the controller from slipping when you use it, there are thick pads on the left and right sides of the bottom.
The detachable cable goes approximately into the NOLVA’s center back, which is a tactical position to prevent the cable from being an obstacle while you play your favorite game.
The NOLVA is made of lightweight plastic, and it looks slimmer than David Schwimmer. At least nine screws hold the bottom together. The bottom is where you can also find a tool to remove buttons.
The case is black, while the buttons are black, blue, and white. The NOLVA is quite reminiscent of the Kitsune. That said, it may be prone to fingerprint smudging, so have a towel on hand for occasional wiping.
All in all, the NOLVA is worth considering if you are looking for a leverless controller with a customizable button layout that is slim and compatible with a modern console.
