Introduction
The Ruyi Box is an all-button controller with innovative touches. We are talking about 18 face buttons on a stickless controller with two analog sticks.
Performance
The Ruyi Box is a dual layout controller, so it can serve as a generic leverless controller or even a WASD controller, thanks to an extra button on the left that serves as the W in the WASD layout. The center of the controller features start and select as full sized buttons instead of small auxiliary buttons.
Auxiliary buttons do exist, however, such as to activate turbo, resulting in rapid inputs with little effort from you. As for the Ruyi Box’s attack buttons, they have an interesting curvature to them.
Regarding the Ruyi Box’s switches, they are Kailh Choc V2 Reds, which are linear and low profile with fast actuation. Sunga’s choice of switches may limit your possible alternatives. In addition, you may have to acquire a switch opener and keycap puller for modding.
The weight of the Ruyi Box means that it should feel stable on your desk or lap. Additionally, there is plenty of wrist space for your comfort during play.
Hardware
Six screws hold the Ruyi Box’s top panel together. The same applies to the bottom panel, and that panel has four anti-slip silicone pads as well. You see, this controller is slimmer than average, making it fit in your luggage more easily.
The Ruyi Box’s USB port comes out of the center back, skewed to the right a little bit. The OLED display screen shows you aspects like:

- SOCD cleaning mode

Appearance
The Ruyi Box’s default art has splatters of red, white, and blue that are aesthetically pleasing. However, the same cannot be said about the compatibility and SOCD cleaning guides on the bottom right of the top panel. They may be useful but visually intrusive.
On the bright side, the buttons support custom RGB LED. Do you see that one button above the attack buttons? It is the LED toggle. Essentially, the Ruyi Box allows you to set aspects such as the light pattern, brightness, color when pressing, and color when not pressing.
