Overview
The Slab Keys is a mini WASD controller that is handmade by Arcade PCBs. The PCB is designed by Arcade PCBs as well, and it is manufactured by JLCPCB.
Through an embedded Raspberry Pi Pico, the Slab Keys runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware. The port is USB-C, which is the industry’s favorite type.
The Slab Keys is a sandwich acrylic case with countersunk screws for the comfort of your hands. In addition, there are clear rubber bumpers. The size of the controller can be compared to a large smartphone.
The DSA keycaps of the Slab Keys utilize MX switches, and LTC Jerrzi Similar Red switches are also included for fast linear actuation. For your convenience, there are hot swap sockets. Note that RGB MX switches are required to show RGB LED per key.
As for the Slab Keys’ function buttons, which have microswitches, they are for:
- Back/start
- Share/options
- Guide/PS
- LS/L3
- RS/R3
- Capture/touchpad
The Slab Keys has a 1.3″ OLED screen to keep you better informed about what is going on while you game. Also, reset and BOOTSEL buttons can be found at the bottom. You see, BOOTSEL can often be used for updates, customization, and troubleshooting.
