Performance

The KBGM-H03 is a stickless controller with 15 face buttons by the keyboard veteran, DOIO. Its proprietary CNC opaque polycarbonate (or simply plastic) keycaps utilize hot swappable Gateron Red linear low-profile switches that are the quieter type. There are circles on the keycaps that feel good to touch.

The bottom right button of the KBGM-H03 is for R3, the leftmost button is for L3, and the uppermost button is also for L3. The six secondary buttons are for:

  1. L3
  2. R3
  3. Turbo
  4. Select
  5. Home
  6. Start

The OLED display screen tells you the input, direction, and SOCD modes. That said, you may notice that there is a wider gap than usual between the buttons on the left and the ones on the right.

It may take you a while to acclimate to the layout if you are a previous user of stickless controllers, but there is a potentially rewarding payoff, especially with more buttons than usual at your disposal.

Hardware

Made of textured CNC aluminum alloy up top, this is a USB-C controller. There are ports on the left and back sides so that you can insert the cable in a way that obstructs you the least. The KBGM-H03 by default runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware to achieve its compatibility.

Do you happen to have a PlayStation 5 dongle? If so, you can insert it into the appropriate port to activate it, achieve enhanced compatibility, and conquer your foes in a fighting game, which could be Street Fighter 6 as the controller has enough buttons for mechanics such as the Drive Impact and Drive Parry.

Appearance

The KBGM-H03’s stylistic features include RGB LED backlight. The controller is available in six colors that include black, gray, white, and shades of orange.

Take heed that the shapes on the keycaps may accumulate dead skin, so be sure to clean them frequently, such as with a small brush that comes with electric razors.

Engraved on the controller is DOIO’s logo (upper left) as well as the motion for a dragon punch (bottom right). Four stabilization feet can be found at the see-through acrylic bottom in addition to four screws.
