Major companies started embracing the leverless format, whether we are talking about the Razer Kitsune or Qanba Sapphire. In this case, Hori is offering you a leverless controller with 16 fully sized buttons.
The additional buttons can be removed if you do not need them. You also get five function buttons, a couple of toggles, and a touchpad.
The concave buttons are light to press with a 2 mm stroke. The switches are proprietary. To prevent the controller from slipping when you use it, there are thick pads on the left and right sides of the bottom.
The detachable cable goes into the center back, which is a tactical position to prevent the cable from being an obstacle while you play your favorite game.
The controller is made of lightweight plastic, and it looks slimmer than David Schwimmer. At least nine screws hold the bottom together. The bottom is where you can also find a tool to remove buttons.
The case is black, and the buttons are black as well. It is quite reminiscent of the Kitsune. That said, it may be prone to fingerprint smudging, so have a towel on hand for occasional wiping.
All in all, the controller is worth considering if you are looking for a leverless controller with a customizable button layout that is slim and compatible with a modern console.
