Introduction

Haute42 is an Evo award winning brand for a reason. It often combines performance and affordability. With the T16-V2, you get the same value that we at The Arcade Stick have gotten used to Haute42 providing.

Performance

The T16-V2 has 16 buttons, so you can use it with modern fighting games. Another advantage is this is a double layout controller. So, you can use it like a standard leverless controller or WASD controller.

That aside, the T16-V2’s matte buttons are 25.8 mm, so you are relieved from smaller buttons that require more precision to press.

As for the T16-V2’s function buttons, they include:

  • Start
  • Home
  • Back
  • Turbo

The T16-V2 utilizes low profile Crystal switches that are pretty fast—despite being quieter than average. If you have another preference, these switches are hot swappable.

You even get a mini screen with the T16-V2. It is on the top panel—and it shows you useful info like which input, directional, and SOCD modes you are in. It also shows your button presses live (for that extra feedback).

The T16-V2 has less than one millisecond of input delay. That is because it runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware, which you can update online.

Hardware

The T16-V2 is slim. It is mainly made of acrylic, and it is lighter than a featherweight fighter. Oh, and there is plenty of space for your palms to rest. Nine screws hold the controller together.

About stability, the T16-V2 is wide enough to place on your lap and desk. What helps further is that there are four silicone feet at the bottom for anti-skidding.

With a USB-C connection, the port can be found in the T16-V2’s center back. On the right is a USB-A port where you can insert a compatibility boosting converter like the BOOTER 5.

Appearance

The black shade of the T16-V2 looks elegant, and we are happy to inform you that the T16-V2 does support custom art—which we at The Arcade Stick usually provide our fans through our bestselling service. For example, our artist Carlos Martinez made this artwork for the T16:

(If you already have T16-V2 art, we can print it for you and cut it as well.)

The T16-V2 also has LED that shines through the buttons attractively—making it not only a high performing controller but a beautiful controller as well.

Before you leave, you may be glad to know that the T16-V2 comes with many free extras like:

  • Guide
  • USB-C cable
  • Switch puller
  • Extra switch
  • Couple of extra function buttons

Even if you already own a Haute42 controller, you should still consider the T16-V2 because it gives previous Haute42 controller owners something new, and it would also be a good gift for your beginner friend. It is a big yet lightweight controller—bringing you the best of both worlds.
