Introduction
Rush your way to victory with the Rushbox Lite 2! This controller has 18 buttons, which are two more buttons than the recent wave of 16 button controllers.
Performance
Initially, leverless controllers started with 12 buttons, and the Rushbox Lite 2’s six extra buttons are to be pressed with these parts of your hands:
- Left pinky
- Left thumb
- Right thumb
- Right palm
- Right index
- Right index
So, your right index finger would be pressing more than one button. That said, one of moimate’s goals was to minimize the gaps between the Rushbox Lite 2’s buttons. Another noteworthy aspect is that all four of the bottom buttons are bigger than the rest.
Moving on, the Rushbox Lite 2’s buttons use switches that are lighter than the first Rushbox Lite. Specifically, they have a 2.8 mm stroke, 1.2 mm actuation point, and 40 g actuation force.

Ergonomically, the Rushbox Lite 2’s A4 size makes it convenient to place on your lap, assuming you don’t manspread. Needless to say, you can always set the controller on your desk. The controller can also fit nicely into moimate’s carrying case that you can buy.
Hardware
The Rushbox Lite 2 is a slim controller made of sturdy ABS. It’s lighter than the Rushbox 2, which is made of aluminum. It’s also flatter.
In essence, the Rushbox Lite 2 runs on the popular RP2040 chip and open source GP2040-CE firmware that’s low in latency. The controller’s screen can show:
- Button press animation
- Directional mode
- SOCD mode
- Input mode
If you need to extend your Rushbox Lite 2’s compatibility options with more consoles, you can simply insert your own adapter into the designated EXT port.
Appearance
Although it’s plastic, the Rushbox Lite 2 has an impressively metallic look. More than that, its ABS was upgraded to show less sweat and scratches compared to the first Rushbox Lite. The controller also brings back the original Rushbox’s iconic six-sided shape.
Color-wise, the Rushbox Lite 2 is silver, but you can also add some color to the controller with the LED that can glow around the buttons and through the sides.
Conclusion
The Rushbox Lite 2 has two more buttons than the recent wave of leverless controllers, including a rare palm button, so you can outshine your opponents. Another reason to invest in this controller is if you prefer a narrower layout.
