Overview
From Kurt Cobain to Kurt Angle, Kurt is a name that has often been associated with greatness throughout history, and with Kurt Mage Controllers, the case is no different.
You see, Kurt Mage makes The Kurtroller. This modular controller allows you to change its top panel’s left and right modules on the go without the need for any soldering. What’s the result? It’s changing button layouts super fast.
By default, The Kurtroller has 16 buttons that include:
- Two right thumb buttons
- Left pinky button
- Center button
The Kurtroller’s buttons have the unique size of 23 mm. These buttons’ performance is boosted by smooth Kailh Saker Mini switches that are low profile—as well as hot swappable for your convenience. The controller also has wrist rests so you can level up online for hours without developing carpal tunnel.
Want to see which buttons you’re pressing through a screen? That’s what The Kurtroller’s onboard OLED display is for. More than that, the display shows the three following modes you’re in:
- Input mode
- Directional mode
- SOCD cleaning mode
You guessed it: The Kurtroller runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware that’s really popular, great, and almost free of lag.
You can even insert an adapter you own inside The Kurtroller to make it compatible with more modern consoles. Otherwise, the USB-C port is in the back.
The Kurtroller is 3D printed from robust PLA, including the buttons. This innovative controller has been spotted in colors like:
- Gold
- Green
- Lime
- Red
- Black
- Blue
With each color mentioned above, there’s usually a good chunk of white throughout The Kurtroller as well. The buttons can have the aforementioned colors too.
The directional buttons can even have arrows displayed on them, and the attack buttons—letters like L, M, and H that signify light, medium, and heavy respectively. The Kurtroller is shaped quite uniquely as well—with two slanted corners.
Therefore, does The Kurtroller look different? Yes, but does it run on great firmware? Well, we’ve already established that… Now, what makes this controller truly a showstopper is how modular it is. If this value stack is what you’re looking for, check out Kurt Mage Controllers’ Etsy today!
