Introduction
No, Jasen’s Customs is not a one trick pony… In other words, it offers more than just the Panzer Fight Stick. For example: The Frame!
The picture in this article is of this one Redditor’s build who wanted triangular buttons, by the way. This just shows you one of the many possibilities of The Frame.
Unboxing
Since The Frame is a DIY case, your order should come with:
- Chassis
- Four feet
- #4-40 screws (6)
- 6 mm M4 screws (12)
- 15 mm M4 screws (10)
The 15 mm screws are to mount The Frame’s inner and outer acrylic pieces, whereas the 6 mm screws are to mount the optional side acrylic pieces. As for the #4-40 screws, they’re to mount the PCB and USB passthrough.
That said, please remember to buy:
- The Frame itself
- Top plexi outer layer
- Top plexi inner layers
- Bottom plexi inner layers
- Bottom plexi outer layer (optional)
- Four side plexi outer layers (optional)
And to finally transmogrify The Frame into a usable controller, consider the following:
- Buttons (with an optional lever and ball top)
- Wiring harness
- PCB
- USB cable
- USB passthrough
(At the time of writing, Jasen’s Customs’ longest USB cable seems to be three meters—a versatile length.)
Performance
One of The Frame’s main selling points is creating your own custom layout for the top and bottom acrylic. For the six buttonholes in the back, you can install 24 mm screw-in function buttons, plugs, or omit these buttonholes altogether. More than that, the left and right sides have four such buttonholes each (eight total).
Now, let’s talk about The Frame’s interior. Thanks to the dedicated mounting area, you can mount your favorite PCB by way of four #4-40 screws.
The board would fit tight in here, so use harnesses made for the 20 pin header. It’s for this reason that Jasen’s Customs includes a USB-A to 4 pin connector with your purchase of The Frame—to compensate for some boards’ USB offsets.
Hardware
The Frame is an acrylic machined-aluminum hybrid—with the chassis being milled out of a solid aluminum piece. What does this mean for you?
- No seams
- No assembly
- No weak points
- No 3D printed parts
Not only that, the recessed D-shaped cutout in the back allows you to install any Neutrik USB passthrough onto The Frame’s chassis. Because the mounting holes are #4-40 threaded, you shouldn’t need any extra washers or nuts.
Appearance
The Frame’s aluminum is anodized black and bead blasted. Since all the sides are recessed, you can bolt acrylic overlays onto them, such as:
- 1.5 mm opaque acrylic
- Custom printed plexi art
We at The Arcade Stick can help you with the custom art through our service. Let’s join forces to make The Frame look the way you want it to! Here’s an example our artist Abimbola Olaoya made for his client’s Panzer Fight Stick:
Conclusion
You can enjoy assembling The Frame with the custom layout that you think can improve your win/loss ratio. You can also enjoy its size, weight, and durability—plus custom art that makes the controller an extension of you.
- Aluminum-acrylic hybrid
- Custom layout is possible
- Up to 14 function buttons
- Art on more than one side
- Optimal screw size
- Feet for stability

- Pure DIY fun!
