Overview
If you’re not fluent in Mandarin, are you brave enough to venture the waters of SiTong’s Taobao page to explore its controllers? If not, you may be glad to know that you can also buy SiTong controllers from Alibaba—with a minimum order quantity of just one controller, such as the H4.
Your H4 should arrive with a silicone cable, which goes in the USB-C port found in the back right. Before that, you can submit to SiTong an entirely custom button layout for your H4.
For example, your H4 can sport a dual leverless-WASD layout, and the main jump button can be bigger than the rest of the buttons. There can also be fully sized function buttons for start, home, touchpad, BOOTSEL—you name it.
You can pick from SiTong’s L or M buttons to go with your H4. The buttons rest on a frosted surface for some anti-sweat grip, and they can rock Kailh Choc Red switches that are linear, fast, and quiet—with no click or bump.
Otherwise, there are other switches available, which SiTong advertises as Falcon, Spring, and Summer Axis switches. After some research, this is our attempt to steelman what the switches are actually called (respectively):
- Cherry MX Falcon
- KTT Semi Mute
- Kailh Box Summer Clicky
The Cherry MX Falcon can be described as strong and tactile with a deep sound. As for the KTT Semi Mute, it’s linear, smooth, and of course, exceptionally quiet. This leaves us with the lively, crisp, and clicky Kailh Box Summer Clicky.
That said, the H4 is made of acrylic and steel held by seven screws seen from the bottom. As for the top, it’s screwless. That’s because the controller can be magnetically opened with no tools, revealing the neat wiring inside.
Now, is the H4 sized well for both lap and desk play?
Yes indeed, and this slim controller is also sloped for your wrists’ comfort. The slope is achieved by two bottom feet that are positioned tactically to raise the H4 a little bit.
For compatibility, the H4 has a Raspberry Pi chip by default, but if you want, SiTong can hook you up with a Brook chip that’s compatible with a variety of modern consoles.
By the way, the H4 has a unique shape, right? Not only that, it’s been spotted in Lacrimosa of Dana, Chun-Li, Sagat, and even anime artworks—with the rest of the enclosure always being black.
(For your information, SiTong pastes the art as a PVC sticker on the H4’s acrylic top.)
Listen, if you’ve got another art idea in mind, please reach out to us here at The Arcade Stick as we have a custom art service that’s been live for years, and we’d love to make your H4 truly represent you.
Folks, we recommend you check out SiTong’s extensive library of products—specifically its controllers—because one of their controllers (like the H4) may be so perfect for you that it turns your fighting game skills from abysmal to optimal!
