Introduction

This fightstick may save you on a rainy day! You can buy the RAINY+ in premade or barebones format. The premade format saves time, effort, and prevents any assembly errors—while the barebones format saves you cash and allows you to feel accomplished after building the fightstick.

Performance

Starting off, it’s rad that the RAINY+ has ample space for your wrist health, and its width is suitable for painless lap play. There’s even a non-slip pad per leg.

Essentially, the RAINY+ has a Punk Workshop spring joystick that goes back to neutral quite fast, and the bestselling Sanwa JLF joystick is also compatible.

Furthermore, the RAINY+ has 11 soft Qanba D-lite primary buttons, so three buttons are extra, and you can use them with your index finger & thumb. By default, these extra buttons can serve as:

  • Touchpad
  • L3
  • R3

On the RAINY+’s right side, you can find four function buttons with Cherry MX hot swappable switches. For this, your fightstick should arrive with a switch puller. Anyhow, the function buttons can act as:

  • Start/options
  • Back/touchpad
  • Home/PS
  • Create

And to wrap up this section, button brands/models compatible with the RAINY+ include:

  • Punk Workshop Blaze
  • Punk Workshop V1/V2
  • Qanba Gravity KS/KT
  • Seimitsu/Alutimo
  • OneFRAME
  • TIKITAKA
  • FlashTap
  • Sanwa

Hardware

The RAINY+ is fairly light, which is great for lap placement. Another convenient design element is magnetic access to the interior for quicker modding and maintenance.

Having said that, the USB-C port can be found in the back right, and with a converter, you can further extend the RAINY+’s console compatibility options.

Otherwise, the RAINY+ features a Fruits Basket.2 PCB, which is a combo of:

  • GP2040-CE firmware
  • Raspberry Pi RP2040 MCU
  • Waveshare RP2040-Zero board

(Those are some of the most reputable connectivity solutions known to the fightstick industry.)

Appearance

The RAINY+ has a cutting edge look with its transparent design, especially with the braided wires inside. On the other hand, the primary buttons are black, and so are the non-slip pads, but like the case itself, the function buttons are also transparent—yet they can still have colors like:

  • Green
  • White
  • Blue
  • Pink

Moreover, the RAINY+ has matte top and base panels to prevent stains. Custom artwork remains possible, and if you’d like your fightstick to display magnificent artwork that represents your taste, please connect with us here at The Arcade Stick. We can offer you our custom artwork service.

Just keep in mind that—since the RAINY+ is assembled by hand—little blemishes here and there are possible, although Fruits Factory strives to avoid them.

Conclusion

With the RAINY+, you gain an advantage over your opponents with only eight button fightsticks—because you’ll have 11 buttons to press your way to victory. The magnetic access is also useful in a pinch.
