Introduction
To be honest, Panzer Fight Sticks have always looked a bit dated, but with the Panzer Slab, Jasen’s Customs made sure to give you a modern look—plus a leverless layout by default.
Performance
As expected with any Jasen’s Customs controller, the Panzer Slab is quite innovative, especially with its layout. You see, its 15 button split layout is slanted—for your wrists’ comfort—and the three extra buttons are to be pressed by your:
- Left pinky
- Either index
- Right thumb
(The Panzer Slab’s thumb buttons are quite far down the top panel compared to where the directional and attack button clusters are.)
That said, the Panzer Slab’s thumb buttons are JCC-MX 30 mm keycaps, whereas the other main buttons are JCC-MX 24 mm keycaps. JCC-MX keycaps are Jasen’s Customs own. These injection molded ABS keycaps are flat with rounded edges—yet they’re grippy.
Moving on!
You have eight function buttons on the Panzer Slab’s top panel, and in their center is an OLED screen that can give you valuable information.
More importantly, the Panzer Slab features Hall effect switches. These switches are magnetic, fully sized, and hot swappable. With 100 possible actuation points, you can make some of the buttons heavier to press than others.
You can save configurations for your convenience, and you may be glad to know that you can use some custom GUI & firmware with the Panzer Slab. Choices of switches include—but are not limited to—Gateron Jades and Jade Pros:

Hardware
The Panzer Slab is made of machined aluminum, but there are no metal contacts to worry about—because such contacts can wear out over time. Instead, the controller has contactless magnetic sensing, ensuring durability.
On both sides of the Panzer Slab, there are a couple of threaded inserts also used by:
- Cameras
- Tripods
- Audio gear
What does that mean? You can attach straps, handles, and so on to the Panzer Slab. Other than that, you can find a premium pad at the bottom, whereas the USB-C port is located in the back left. The controller should come with a USB-C to A cable, by the way.
The Panzer Slab’s cables connect via JST connectors, resulting in easier maintenance for you. As for the PCB, it’s the Brook Gen-5X Mini, which is multiplatform & low latency.
Appearance
The Panzer Slab’s look can be roughly described as rectangular with round edges. Its silver metallic accents are nice to see, and the five screws you can see from the top aren’t too unsightly. Down yonder, you can request custom laser etching on the 120 mm center medallion at the bottom.
Having said that, here are the four limited edition colors for those who have bought the Panzer Slab upon release:
- Bronze
- Orange
- Off white
- Medium blue
(Even if you buy the Panzer Slab after its release, however, you should still be able to choose JCC-MX keycaps in the color of your choice.)
