Introduction

Do you consider yourself a revolutionary? If so, then consider buying a fightstick from Revolution Sticks! It’s associated with another fine Brazilian establishment, 2nd Impact.

Revolution Sticks has so many interesting models, such as a guitar-looking fightstick, but let’s go ahead and focus on one of its flagship models: the REV14 Madrid.

Hala Madrid!

Performance

Although Revolution Sticks also offers Korean bat-top joysticks, the REV14 has a Japanese ball-top joystick and eight buttons in the comfortable Vewlix layout.

Those are arcade-style buttons as opposed to other buttons that Revolution Sticks sometimes uses that are infused with Kailh or Cherry switches.

Furthermore, the button count is pretty flexible, and you can even request a custom layout via the company’s WhatsApp to increase your winning odds.

That said, Revolution Sticks offers premium buttons like Qanba and Sanwa. If you deck out your REV14 with Sanwa buttons and a Sanwa joystick, for example, you can enjoy crisp sounding buttons with an optimal travel distance as well as smooth joystick movements in every direction.

Anyhow, the REV14 has three more buttons that are side buttons, and these buttons are fully sized. At the bottom, there are four feet to keep the fightstick in place as you mash out tough combos.

If needed, you can even find a Revolution Sticks controller with a rubber bottom for enhanced stability. In any case, the REV14 is really wide, so it should fit on even the biggest laps without the need for squeezing one’s legs together.

Hardware

Revolution Sticks has big and small controllers that are slim or thick and made of materials like metal or wood. As for the REV14, it’s the thicker type, and it’s made of acrylic.

To carry your REV14 with ease, it has handles on the left and right. Moreover, you can find a Revolution Sticks controller with a screen if that’s what you like.

By the way, the REV14’s USB-B port can be found in its back left. Depending on how much compatibility you need, the fightstick’s price can be higher or lower—catering to your budget.

Here’s a quick guide…

Need little compatibility and want to save money? Go for a Pico board. Need a lot of compatibility and have a decent budget? Go for a multiplatform Brook PCB.

Appearance

Frankly, the REV14 is a work of art. More than that, its top and bottom panel art can be customized. We can even provide you custom art here at The Arcade Stick through our artwork service.

To embellish your REV14 even more, you can choose its parts’ colors. For example, let’s say you go for fiery red art. You can then go for a red joystick and, say, black and white buttons—which still jibe with the color scheme.

Even the button rims can have a different color from the buttons themselves. Not only that, you can request clear buttons so that your REV14’s top panel art can show through them.

Something cool about the REV14’s partially see-through bottom panel is that you can enjoy its edgy look as well as see what kind of internals are inside without needing to pop open the fightstick.

Spoiler alert: The REV14’s wiring is nicely braided! Otherwise, let’s just wrap up by saying that you can find a Revolution Sticks controller with shiny LED if you want.

Conclusion

Revolution Sticks has some of the most unique fightsticks on the market. Whichever level of performance or look you’re searching for, this company probably has it. If you’re not in Brazil, it’s worth ordering its fightsticks through a proxy service if that’s needed.
