Overview
Assuming you’re not Chinese, are you bold enough to navigate SiTong’s Taobao page to explore its controllers? If not, it also sells some controllers on Alibaba with a minimum order quantity of one unit. Yep, SiTong started selling controllers in addition to its buttons that it became famous for!
That said, your H3 should arrive with a silicone cable. If you buy the PlayStation 5 version called the H3-PS5, you should be receiving an adapter for PS5 compatibility as well.
The PS5 adapter can go in the USB-A port that’s roughly in the H3’s back center. Nearby, precisely the back right, is the USB-C port for the cable.
With that, the H3 is a 17 button controller, meaning it has a double layout. You can either use it like a regular leverless controller or WASD controller. This is because there’s an extra jump button that acts as the W of the WASD layout.
Some more awesome stuff you can do with the H3’s extra buttons:
- The left pinky button is for R1 plus R2.
- The left thumb button is for L3.
- The right thumb button is for R3.
- The right index button is for select.
That’s right: the H3’s select button is a fully sized button as opposed to a small function button. There are four small function buttons too, which serve as (from left to right):
- Start
- Touchpad
- Home
- BOOTSEL
All the H3’s primary buttons are similarly sized, and they sport the low profile Kailh Choc Red linear switches. These quieter switches are fast—with no tactile bump or click.
If you caught a glimpse of the tiny screen atop the H3 as well, it displays your SOCD mode, directional mode, input mode, and a live animation of your button presses.
Hardware-wise, though?
The H3 is an acrylic controller held by seven screws. You can place this small yet wide controller on your lap without having to squeeze your legs together. For optimized desk play, there are six feet too.
Before we wrap up, let’s dabble in looks. The H3’s black color is pleasantly minimalist, but if it looks too plain to you, you can turn on the LED that lights up the controller like a matchstick.
Truthfully, you’re not guaranteed to like how the PCB pins are visible from the H3’s bottom, but to end things on a positive note here, SiTong offers a plethora of controllers—from leverless to fightsticks.
