Performance
With 12 main buttons and six function buttons, you can utilize your Flatbox to conquer many fighting games. The buttons have a pleasant sound to them. Why?
That’s partially due to the Kailh Choc V2 switches. With your buttons, you can request Kailh Choc V2 switches with a mildly tactile feel—or you can even request a linear variant that’s smooth and quiet. Don’t spend too much time deciding which switches to choose, though, because you can always hot swap them later.
That said, whether or not you’ve had a leverless experience before, your fingers should be able to comfortably rest on your Flatbox, given its state-of-the-art button layout. Hardware
FlatboxLab controllers are slim and light. Moreover, FlatboxLab 3D prints its controllers with care. 3D printing often results in minor blemishes, but this company is impressive at how smoothly its finishes come out.
Moving on, FlatboxLab controllers are powered with an RP2040-Zero chip that runs on the open source and widely popular GP2040-CE firmware.
That’s why there was no input lag detected during testing. By the way, the USB-C port approximately comes out of the Flatbox’s center back.
Now, there’s a possibility that you’d like to extend your Flatbox’s compatibility to support additional modern consoles. No worries, you can just insert your own adapter into the EXT port. This USB-A port can be found in the back right.
Appearance
One of the coolest aspects about FlatboxLab controllers is that the art can show through the buttons as well as the top panel. Otherwise, the buttons can have a plain color, such as blue. In fact, FlatboxLab controllers have primarily been sighted in button or panel colors like:
