Introduction

Are you a revolutionary who’d like to fly up in the air? The Joytron EX Revolution Air is a fightstick with an optional wireless connection, but that only scratches the surface of its many features that we’re excited to tell you about!

Unboxing

The EX Revolution Air comes in a smart-looking black box with these handy items that help you connect it:

  • Wireless receiver
  • OTG adapter
  • Manual

Performance

The EX Revolution Air uses 30 mm silent buttons—a big size. For your comfort, there’s plenty of space between the buttons and joystick (precisely 6 cm). The joystick appears to be a variant of the acclaimed Crown CWL-309 lever with:

  1. Rubber grommet tension
  2. Smooth circular motions
  3. Long throw

Its low collar allows you to easily swap it with a Japanese joystick too, for example. In the order below, the EX Revolution Air also has a knob on the top panel to switch between input modes:

  • Android
  • PS5
  • PS4
  • PS3
  • Retro
  • Apple
  • DInput
  • XInput
  • Switch

Note that most PlayStation 5 fighting games should work with the EX Revolution Air. Having said that, the fightstick has an earphone jack in addition to a microphone mute button—both of which can be found on the front panel. These additions help you stay in the zone.

Hardware

The EX Revolution Air is made in China from a durable type of plastic—commonly used to make fightsticks—called ABS. It’s also reinforced with metal on top and at the bottom.

Moreover, the EX Revolution Air is wider than average, making it comfy on your lap, but it’s also heavier than average. On the bright side, the weight makes it not slide around during play, especially due to the rubber pads per corner.

That aside, you are six screws away from unscrewing the EX Revolution Air’s bottom to access its interior. The internals are organized, and the wiring is neat.

We’re most delighted to tell you how the EX Revolution Air has a left side panel with a hinged door that reveals a wireless receiver, which has its own compartment. This compartment is where you can also locate the USB cable.

You see, the EX Revolution Air can use Bluetooth. It has a 1,000 mAh battery that can last 20 hours per charge. Of course, a wired connection is possible instead.

Appearance

From a quick glance, you can see the EX Revolution Air’s PlayStation and Xbox button labels. You can also see these toggles and function buttons on the top panel:

  • LS/DP/RS
  • 2.4G/USB/BT
  • Sync
  • Turbo
  • Share/-/select/create
  • Capture/touchpad
  • Power/home
  • Options/+/start

Stylistically though, the EX Revolution Air has an elegant black-and-white color scheme. Wanna spice it up further? Just take off the cover, slide your printed art underneath, and put the cover back on. Keep in mind that the buttons have to be uninstalled and reinstalled too.

At this point, we’d like to tell you that the EX Revolution Air uses the same case as the Mayflash F700, F700X, and F700 Elite. In fact, our artist (name below) once designed the F700 art below, which we also printed:

Conclusion

The EX Revolution Air packs a lot of features into a wireless fightstick with significant size and weight. It’s most recommended for Tekken players who find that a Korean lever ups their chances of winning matches. If you don’t live in Korea, you may have to order this awesome fightstick through a proxy service.
