Overview

Yago make me lose my mind! Up in here! Up in here!

The YagoBoard is a 15 button mini controller also available in a WASD edition. The three extra buttons are for L3, R3, and select. In other words, these buttons are for Street Fighter 6 purposes—because the game has mechanics like the Drive Impact and Drive Parry. Needless to say, this controller works for other games too.

You may be glad to know that the YagoBoard’s extra buttons are to be used by your thumbs—as well as your left pinky. Furthermore, the jump button is bigger than the rest, allowing you to press it with either thumb’s side more easily.

Regarding the YagoBoard’s function buttons, they’re for:

  • Start
  • Home
  • Capture

That said, the YagoBoard uses the wildly popular Punk Workshop buttons, which are bolstered by low profile Kailh Choc V2 switches that are responsive. Not only that, the switches are hot swappable for your convenience.

Now, what’s the use of responsive switches without a responsive PCB, right? Luckily, the YagoBoard makes use of the bestselling Raspberry Pi Pico chip, which runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware we at The Arcade Stick have grown to love over the years.

We’re also fans of USB-C ports, such as the one on the YagoBoard’s right. You see, this is a light & slim controller made of 8 mm acrylic, and there are at least nine screws to the controller.

We mention the screws because, while the YagoBoard doesn’t come with custom art, you can unscrew the acrylic top to then insert your newly printed art that truly represents you.

Actually, we have a custom art service here at The Arcade Stick. After you receive our printed design, you can just remove the YagoBoard’s acrylic top to then insert our print.

Note that, since the YagoBoard is assembled by hand, there may be a little bit of dirt and/or dust. Moreover, since the controller wasn’t designed with durability deeply in mind, there’s a possibility it’ll get damaged over time, so take heed. Finally, the OLED screen doesn’t work, but that shouldn’t affect performance—from connectivity to the buttons working.

All in all, the YagoBoard is recommended if you’re infatuated with mini acrylic-sandwich controllers that can actually pack a punch—winning you endless matches online.
