For real, for real, though? Granola Arcade started as a pretty basic provider of simple leverless controllers with a nature vibe. Over time, it started innovating more & more, and the Beacon is the pinnacle of its innovation so far.
The Beacon is open source, but you can also order it preassembled. The controller comes with a charm loop as well as a Granola charm.
The 15 button Beacon with differently sized buttons also features an optional WASD layout. The three function buttons are more like keys, which is cool.
Moving on, the Beacon’s switches are all magnetic, and they’re the Hall effect type—having customizable actuation points. Namely, the controller uses the smooth yet fast Gateron Jade Pro switches with 35 g of actuation force.
Thanks to the accessibility ports, the Beacon can support up to four external buttons (or even foot pedals). With a non-slip pad at the bottom as well, your brand new controller can stay more stable as you mash your way to victory.
But what about the hardware?
The Beacon is made of PLA Pro and assembled by hand in the heart of Seattle. It runs on the optimal GP2040-CE firmware that can be supplemented with an adapter to make the controller compatible with even more modern consoles. The USB-C port is in the back center, and the EXT port is in the back right. The cable is an optional upsell.
That said, Granola Arcade wants your Beacon to represent your aesthetic taste. That’s why there are more than 20 colors to choose from, including mixing & matching the button and key colors. Some of the colors include:
- Navy blue
- Orange
- Purple
- Yellow
Hey, there’s even an acrylic layer for custom art, which we at The Arcade Stick have specialized in for years through our service, so we can whip up a design of your choice for your very own Beacon.
It’s small, it’s light, it’s slim—what more could you ask for? The Beacon awaits your order so that you can travel the world with it—as a tournament warrior!
