Introduction
The Snack Box Micro had you at hello, but you just wish it was bigger… This is why Junkfood Custom Arcades eventually released the Snack Box Micro XL. Actually, there are two reasons, and we hope you’ll read on to find out why!
Unboxing
You can order an accessory with your brand new Micro XL, such as a silencing pad set. In essence, it’s a black sheet with a dozen circular pads that you can pop out of it.
Having a dozen silencing pads means that you can dampen the sound of zero, one, half a dozen, or a dozen of your Micro XL’s buttons etc. These button silencers turn you into an absolute ninja at tournaments.
Performance
Here’s the first reason that the Micro XL is bigger: it’s more comfortable to play with on your lap because you don’t have to squeeze your legs together.
Otherwise, your Micro XL’s buttons can be concave or convex. Fundamentally, these are injection molded PBT keycaps with some texture.
Having said that, the Micro XL does bring back the epic layout of a 30 mm jump button with the rest of the primary buttons being 24 mm.
The Micro XL also has a whopping seven function buttons. Back to the primary buttons though, Junkfood Custom Arcades can offer you these hot swappable Kailh Choc low profile switches to go with them:

Hardware
The Micro XL’s quality hardware means that it shouldn’t warp when you press on it or something like that. In spite of remaining portable and light, the controller can be fairly stable on a desk.
By the way, you may be enthusiastic to know that the Micro XL is licensed by Hit Box Arcade, so you don’t have to be concerned about patent infringement and so on.
Yet, while the Micro XL uses a multiplatform Brook PCB, some Xbox Series X players might not be able to use a third party controller like this one without an extra USB-A style converter, so take heed.
