Introduction
Zenaim, Zenaim, Zenaim…
We’ve been hearing a lot about this mighty brand recently, namely from Japanese players, and it honestly deserves the hype. Zenaim’s button module kit is simply astounding, and it’s awesome that this brand now has its own controller.
Unboxing
The controller comes in a white box. Open that box, and you should find the controller in a white sleeve. You can also find a beautifully braided Zenaim USB-C cable, which comes tied. Don’t forget the start guide and warranty either!
Performance
This 15 button controller has one of the most based layouts. Essentially, you have your standard dozen 24 mm buttons—with the 30 mm jump button being bigger than the rest—but you also have three extra buttons to press with your:
- Left thumb
- Right thumb
- Right index
Then again, the highlight of this controller’s performance is actually its button module kit, which Zenaim is really known for. You see, this brand is endorsed by Zeta Division eSports team members Momochi, Hikaru, and ChocoBlanka. In fact, Momochi and Hikaru helped develop the button module kit—known for:
- Smooth feel with a 0.75 mm stroke
- Motion Hack rapid trigger function
- Contactless magnetic switches
- Temperature compensation
The 0.75 mm stroke is supposed to maximize speed—while minimizing accidental presses. In other words, it’s the goldilocks zone. Also, you get to set precise on/off strokes per button.
As for the Motion Hack rapid trigger function, it allows you to adjust the actuation point in 0.05 mm increments—with a range of 0.10 to 0.65 mm. Meanwhile, the reset point ranges from 0.05 to 0.60 mm. And the actuation force? It’s 50 gf, which is pretty moderate.

That said, it’s impressive how fast you can block with the ultra fast switches! It’s also nice how there’s plenty of palm resting space, and the big anti-slip pad is quite effective. Not only that, the bottom being flat makes the controller convenient to place on your desk or lap.
Hardware
Structurally, the controller is made of acrylic on top and ABS at the bottom. Having said that, the bottom has a couple of grooves that you can use as carrying handles.
By the way, the buttons are basically PBT keycaps with ABS housing. Regarding the contactless magnetic switches, they’re supposed to last you a whopping 100 million presses—with no decline in performance.
Interestingly, there’s temperature compensation too, which ensures that weather that’s too hot or too cold doesn’t affect the performance in a bad way.
Appearance
To be honest, the controller looks like the fancy type that you can crack open magnetically, but in reality, it’s got a lot of screws, so be ready for a workout as you unscrew it. On a positive note, the interior is quite organized and spacious.
The controller is slim, and its top panel’s sides slope down in an aesthetic way that complements its elegant black design. The matte texture—which has a decent shine—looks like it should be a fingerprint magnet, but it really isn’t.
Conclusion
This controller spares you from having to install Zenaim’s button module kit yourself. Instead, you receive the controller with the great buttons already installed for you, so you can level up your game ASAP—with no time wasted. And the endorsement by pro fighting gamers doesn’t hurt, right?
