Introduction

The Kleenex Kylinix T16 may be what you’re missing to take your fighting game skills to the next level. It’s big, it’s got a lot of buttons, and you owe it to yourself to continue reading to know more about this awesome controller!

(Disclaimer: Kylinix is a subsidiary of TIKITAKA, which is a bestselling leverless brand.)

Performance

Leverless controllers started getting made and sold with only a dozen buttons, but the T16 has 16 buttons (as its name indicates). A couple of the extra buttons can be found on the bottom row where you can use them with your thumbs.

A couple more extra buttons are on the top row, such as an extra jump button to use the T16 like a WASD controller if you wish. So, yes, this is a double layout controller that offers you a two-in-one deal.

By the way, the T16 uses ABS buttons that have some texture, and the Kasumi switches are low profile with a pretty short travel distance. Furthermore, hot swapping is possible.

And about the T16’s five function buttons, they are for:

  1. Home
  2. Turbo
  3. Select
  4. Touchpad
  5. Start

We’ll wrap up the performance section of this review by praising the T16 for being spacious enough to set on your lap as well as comfort your wrists.

Hardware

Let’s start this section off by saying that the T16 is acrylic, slim, and light enough to carry around without getting fatigued. If you need to disassemble the controller for some reason, you are seven screws away from doing that.

Because of the Raspberry Pi chip, the T16 operates on the GP2040-CE firmware. This open source firmware provides you decent compatibility options and almost zero delay.

And do you see the little screen on the T16? It shows you valuable intel like:

  • Animation of your button presses
  • SOCD cleaning mode
  • Directional mode
  • Input mode

One last cool thing about the T16’s hardware is that it has three USB-C ports: in the back, on the left, and on the right.

Appearance

The T16 is one of the simpler looking controllers, and the black cable suits the controller’s color, but the RGB LED is one way to bring the controller to life with some lights. In fact, you can sift through different lighting modes until you find the one you jive with.

Oh, and don’t forget to add custom art to your T16, making it represent your taste. We at The Arcade Stick actually have a custom art service, and we await your instructions!

Conclusion

With 16 buttons laid out in a spacious format—as well as vanity in the form of LED and custom art, the T16 is a bargain.
