Introduction

Kylinix is a subsidiary of TIKITAKA, which is one of the leading leverless brands. The Kylinix K15 has 15 buttons and more interesting features we urge you to read on to discover!

Unboxing

When you buy a brand new K15, you should also be getting the following for free:

  • Six anti-slip pads
  • Two Allen keys
  • Extra keycap(s)
  • Extra switch(es)
  • USB-C cable
  • Manual

(The manual may be in Japanese—because Kylinix is a Chinese brand that mainly targets a Japanese audience. However, worldwide shipping is still possible.)

Performance

You may have gotten used to seeing leverless controllers with only a dozen buttons, but as we’ve already established, the K15 has 15 buttons—and these buttons are big.

A couple of the extra buttons can be found in the bottom row, so you can use them with your thumbs. Otherwise, the K15 has an extra jump button.

Extra jump button? But what does that mean?

That means the K15 can also be used as a WASD controller. Essentially, you’re buying a two-in-one controller for the price of just one.

Onward, the K15’s five function buttons are for:

  1. Home
  2. Turbo
  3. Select
  4. Touchpad
  5. Start

That aside, the K15’s main performance metric is its use of Kailh Ghost switches. These tactile switches are quiet and light with a smooth bump. Moreover, hot swapping is possible.

Let’s wrap up the performance section by saying that the K15 is spacious enough to set on your lap as well as accommodate your wrists. Speaking of wrists…

Hardware

The K15’s matte acrylic is chamfered for your wrists’ comfort, and this acrylic is anti-slip plus sweat-resistant. In addition, the controller is slim and light enough to carry from place to place without getting tired. Need to disassemble the controller for some reason? You are only seven screws away from doing so.

Thanks to a Raspberry Pi chip, the K15 runs on the open source GP2040-CE firmware. This excellent firmware provides decent compatibility and almost zero delay.

And see that little screen onboard the K15? It shows you important information like:

  • Input mode
  • Directional mode
  • SOCD cleaning mode
  • Live animation of your button presses

Something cool about the K15 is how you can insert a USB-A adapter to extend the compatibility options with more consoles. The designated port for this can be found in the controller’s back, which is where you can also find a USB-C port. Two more USB-C ports can be found on the left and right sides—totaling four USB ports.

Appearance

The K15 looks nicely simple—with the icing on top being the RGB LED that glows through the buttons. Cycle through the different lighting modes until you find the one that you absolutely love.

Don’t forget to add custom art to your K15 to make it represent what you like in life. Do consider our bestselling custom art service here at The Arcade Stick. We await your instructions!
