Introduction
When Vanjobi released the MojuBox years ago, the fightstick community was in awe of its modular design. It got plenty of sales on Etsy—and understandably so.
But Vanjobi is not a one trick pony…
In fact, Vanjobi teased this one new controller on Reddit time & time again—and eventually released it. It’s called the Huntsman, and it allows you to hunt down tournament wins. Read on to find out how!
Performance
Essentially, the Huntsman has 12 main buttons, four aux buttons, and two analog sticks. Regarding the analog sticks, you can wiggle them with your thumbs while your other fingers are pressing the buttons.
The Huntsman’s analog sticks are the PlayStation 5 Hall effect type, so they don’t drift. Furthermore, the analog sticks move magnetically instead of physically, resulting in more durability. Octagonal gates are also available, and you can request them for:
- Left stick
- Right stick
- Both sticks
Moving on, it’s important to note that the Huntsman’s buttons have a pretty aggressive slant to them, which should actually make your wrists last longer per gaming session. That said, the buttons use Gateron Baby Kangaroo switches.
The Huntsman’s five-pin switches are pre-lubed and have a P-shaped tactile bump near the top, resulting in a snappy experience for you.
In layman’s terms, such switches are heavier and slower than, say, your average Cherry MX Red or Kailh Choc Red. To wrap up the performance section: we’d like to confirm to you that, yes, the Huntsman is viable for fighting games too!
Hardware
The Huntsman is comfortable on a desk and wide enough to comfortably place on your lap as well. If you need minimum compatibility, go for the GP2040 edition. If you need more compatibility, go for the Brook Gen-5X edition.
It’s up to you which console’s button labels you’d like directly on your Huntsman’s buttons (if at all). That aside, here are the aux button lineups you can expect per compatibility option:

Appearance
