Initially announced as Project Defiant, the FlexStrike by Sony provides you native connectivity with the PlayStation 5 without any additional hassle. This wireless connection is made possible by way of PlayStation Link, which also provides very little input lag.

(If you prefer a USB-C wired connection, you can go for that too.)

PS Link has its own USB adapter. This adapter can go into the FlexStrike’s storage compartment—where you can also store restrictor gates for convenience and portability.

You see, the FlexStrike is a digital fightstick with a joystick that has interchangeable restrictor gates:

  1. Square
  2. Circular
  3. Octagonal

For more portability, you can enjoy the included sling carry case that is sturdy and even includes a lever gap—keeping the FlexStrike’s joystick safe as you travel from country to country in hopes of becoming the best fighting game player in the world.

As for the FlexStrike’s buttons, they use mechanical switches—much like a keyboard. And the touchpad, you ask? It’s quite like the one found on the PlayStation DualSense controller.

Speaking of the DualSense, the FlexStrike has the DualSense color scheme of black and white. Also, the fightstick looks slim and sloped.

Here’s a cool feature: you can press the PS button on the FlexStrike to wake up your PS5 wirelessly. The fightstick also has a toggle—as well as these function buttons (from left to right):

  • Lock
  • Create
  • PS Link
  • L3
  • R3
  • Options

Current PS5 owners, future PS5 owners, and those who play on others’ PS5s should absolutely check out the FlexStrike for its native connectivity—plus more.

Hey, the FlexStrike may even be backwards compatible with the future PS6… Saving you money!
