Overview

Is Far East Pinball a pinball-related store located in the Far East? Yes, but it also makes fighting game controllers like the Eastern Leverless and Eastern Arcade Stick!

Let’s focus on the Eastern Leverless more—because that’s the layout the fighting game community prefers. In fact, this controller was made with Street Fighter 6 in mind, but of course, you can also use it for games like Tekken and so on. For fightstick lovers, we’ll be sure to sporadically comment on the Eastern Arcade Stick as well.

So, shall we?

First, it’s sick that the Eastern Leverless uses the legendary Sanwa OBSF-24 buttons. These buttons are durable and responsive—with optimal travel distance back & forth. Sanwa OBSC-24 and OBSJ-24 buttons are possible too.

What’s also sick is how the Eastern Leverless has a palm button on the top panel’s bottom right. This button allows you to put your right palm to use—in addition to your fingers. The palm button is offered in two types with different heights and three kinds with round button tops.

What if you buy the Eastern Arcade Stick, though? It can still have Sanwa OBSF-24 buttons—this time coupled with a springy Seimitsu LS-32-01-SC joystick plus a shaft cover. Needless to say, Sanwa joysticks are possible too.

That said, it’s important to note that the Eastern Leverless has one of the most unique directional button layouts we’ve ever seen. Namely, these four buttons’ layout is more compact rather than, say, horizontally spread out. Furthermore, the jump button is only for your left thumb.

The front panel’s function button is actually for mapping. To its right, you can make use of two coin slots with buttons too. From left to right, these three buttons are for:

  1. Mapping
  2. Shift
  3. Plus

Onward, the Eastern Leverless features three SOCD cleaning modes to stay tournament legal. It also uses the industry standard USB-C, and its port can be found in the back. Moreover, five screws hold the top panel in place.

By the way, you probably noticed already that the Eastern Leverless is a mini controller, and if you get the Eastern Arcade Stick, it comes with a detachable dock to place your Nintendo Switch, for example, to turn the setup into a little arcade cabinet of sorts.

And color-wise? The Eastern Leverless has a black enclosure with a red top panel, which features a geometric pattern—in addition to some subtle Far East Pinball branding.

Depending on availability, you may be able to get one of these other Eastern Arcade Stick top panel colors:

  • Clear blue
  • Clear green
  • Smoky gray

Moving on, the Eastern Leverless’ directional (and palm) buttons can be red, whereas the attack (and function) buttons can be white.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Arcade Stick can have LED light up the buttons nicely. We’re talking about seven colors with seven patterns, expanding your aesthetic choices.

With that being said, whether you’re a pinball enthusiast or a fighting gamer looking for a portable option to take to your buddy’s place—as you spar with him or her in a game of Guilty Gear—check out Far East Pinball’s BOOTH shop that ships internationally (through the Buyee logistics solution)!
