Introduction
After it launched, the BSP-Y01 was an unexpected success. Yet, it had one main issue: it only had six buttons. Thankfully, the BSP-Y02 solves this problem—as it has eight buttons while retaining a fairly small size.
Unboxing
While the unboxing process this time around is nothing too fancy, the BSP-Y02’s most important unboxing detail is that you have to quickly install the joystick onto the arcade stick yourself. This probably made the package slimmer.
Performance
The BSP-Y02 is a mini arcade stick designed to dock handhelds. Essentially, there are eight attack buttons of honestly mediocre quality. In other words, they’re prone to jamming. Thankfully, this arcade stick is mod friendly. Meanwhile, the seven function buttons are for:

- Home
Having said that, the BSP-Y02’s turbo speed options are:
- 25 times a second
- 15 times a second
- 8 times a second
On the other hand, the BSP-Y02’s joystick is light and delicate, yet its square gate feels like it can limit precise movements. Now, you might have to calibrate the joystick a bit on PC—after which it’ll likely register inputs just fine. D-pad and left-stick input switching are possible too, by the way.
Hardware
Not only is the joystick light, but the entire arcade stick is light. The BSP-Y02 is made of ABS, which is a lightweight yet durable type of plastic commonly used to make arcade sticks.
Moving on, the BSP-Y02’s USB-C port is in the center back. That’s if you want to go wired, of course. Otherwise, Bluetooth and wifi connectivity are viable options.
The 600 mAh battery can last you more than 10 hours after, say, a couple hours of charging. You can expect the BSP-Y02’s wireless connectivity to extend up to eight meters.
Appearance
The BSP-Y02 looks simple, which isn’t necessarily bad. That said, this arcade stick is available in color combos like:

- White case & black buttons
(It’s probably best to pick a color that matches whichever handheld you’ll be docking onto your BSP-Y02.)
