Overview
ACAB Wilson Works makes all-button controllers out of wood and resin. This Pennsylvania based business offers preassembled designs that can be custom tailored to your taste, including from button types to internals.
The controllers often feature a mixture of 24 mm and 30 mm Sanwa buttons that are metallic red/clear & gold. The button LED is controlled via wifi. One way you can control the color modes is through a phone app. Another way is through a remote.
Upon power loss, the LED defaults to RGB, so if you would like a different color, you would need to continue changing it with the remote.
Moving on, the wood finish is often tung oil, which is durable but not permanent. Its lifespan is about a year or two after which you can reapply tung oil yourself. The controllers also come with a heavy duty non-slip pad.
The controllers of this Pittsburgh suburban establishment are often quite thick and feature five auxiliary buttons in the back as well as a passthrough.
You see, the black cable of the controllers is USB-A, and the Brook UFB Fusion PCB diversifies the controllers’ compatibility. The PCB is mounted upside down on the baseboard mounting rails and held on by screws & nuts.
Now, if you need to remove the PCB, hold the nut with your finger, and unscrew the screw. The purpose behind this design is to avoid having to drill through the body or resort to using some sort of adhesive.
All in all, if you are looking for stickless wooden controllers with premium parts, diverse compatibility, or stylish LED, Donte Wilson is your guy!
