Performance

The unique buttons of the Q5 Dragon Joystick Arcade Fighting Stick do not have the same smoothness as Sanwa buttons. Pressing the buttons requires a little bit of force. Some of the secondary buttons require more than one press to register. The options button should have been placed somewhere else besides the command console. Gladly, there is a turbo feature for those who prefer it.

Hardware

The Dragon can be jokingly referred to an actual dragon in terms of size and weight. It is heavy and won’t easily fit in most backpacks, especially if it is not the only item in a backpack. Fortunately, Qanba developed the Aegis bag specifically for this issue. The arcade stick requires one’s entire lap space if the unit is not set on a table. However, the high quality rubber makes up for this complication.

As for cable management, Qanba did well designing the hooks around which the cord should be wrapped. Though, the hardware aspect in which this arcade stick truly shines is the interior access, which is spacious and intuitive, and a LED light even turns on for extra clarity. There is a handy display guide along with quick disconnects per button.

Appearance

The Dragon’s sheer size in itself is a sign of beauty and will likely intimidate foes as a side effect. However, that is not the only thing this beautiful arcade stick has going for it. The aluminum alloy and jet black color scheme is pleasing to the eye, and the piece looks like it belongs somewhere in the control center of an advanced spaceship. The attention to detail with this aesthetic arcade stick becomes beyond evident when peering into the dragon scale interior. As an icing on the cake, the LED lighting seals the deal.
