Overview

Do you like living life on the edge? If so, then the Mavercade Mini Edge Fighter may be for you!

The fact is the Mini Edge Fighter supports the most premium of parts, such as Sanwa. Sanwa parts are known for their responsivity and durability.

Sanwa parts often have optimal travel distance, so you don’t need to move the joystick or press a button too hard for an input to register. At the same time, you shouldn’t find yourself accidentally registering an input just by resting your finger on a button, for example.

Not the biggest fan of Sanwa? Don’t sweat it because similar arcade-style buttons are compatible (assuming a 52 mm internal clearance).

That said, the Mini Edge Fighter allows you to choose the layout of your dreams:

  • Noir
  • Sega 2P
  • Mavercade S4

Or something completely custom! Just reach out to Will from Mavercade, and he will try to accommodate you. As long as your desired custom layout fits within the Mini Edge Fighter’s boundaries, you should be good to go, amigo.

Moving on, four or six function buttons can be requested to appear on the Mini Edge Fighter’s back. This is a brilliant location to avoid accidental presses (and avoid getting disqualified during Evo grand finals). The back is where you can also find the USB-C port, which is a great location too for making the cable less of an obstacle.

Here’s something interesting: OLED screens are common on leverless controllers but not fightsticks, so if you’d like to stand out from the crowd at the next tournament, you can request for your Mini Edge Fighter to have a roughly 1″ screen on it. This way, you can see things like:

  • Your button presses live
  • Which input mode you are in
  • Which directional mode you are in

That said, to prevent the Mini Edge Fighter from slipping as you pull off the hardest combos in a match, there is 2 mm EVA foam at the bottom. This is good for both lap and desk play.

Here’s the hardware makeup of the Mini Edge Fighter in a nutshell:

  1. Enclosure
  2. Top panel
  3. Bottom panel
  4. Foam
  5. Bolts
  6. Standoffs

With that being said, the Mini Edge Fighter is 3D printed from matte PLA that gives you a slightly grippy texture. Moreover, there’s a USB-C passthrough already mounted for your convenience.

As for the Mini Edge Fighter’s PCB, the self-stick adhesive standoffs allow you to mount the board internally. For the top panel’s mounting points, the standoffs are stainless steel.

Aesthetically, the Mini Edge Fighter is a sight to behold. With a couple of 3 mm acrylic sheets for the top panels, you can go for:

  • Clear
  • Matte black
  • Matte white acrylic

Oh, you’d rather have custom art on your Mini Edge Fighter? Well, you’re in luck because that’s possible. In fact, we at The Arcade Stick offer a custom art service, and we hope you enjoy a sample of our finest work.
