- It is a reprise of an arcade stick from the previous generation.
- A turbo function is present.
The newly angled edge of the Fighting Stick V3 BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend Edition provides a comfortable wrist space, unless one’s hands are bigger than average, making left hand soreness almost inevitable. The joystick is relatively loose but in a helpful fashion. It is still stiffer than other counterparts from other brands though and needs to be loosened up through use.
As for the buttons, pressing them feels good, and they make a nice and crisp sound. However, the buttons are too close to the joystick as the angular curve stops after the second column. The start button is within easy reach, but it might get hit on accident. Some games might not recognize it if it can be used for moves.
The arcade stick is quite light, but it feels comfortable on a lap without cutting off blood supply. In other words, it is heavy enough. There is a grip handle for convenient carriage for short distances. The cable compartment is quite spacious, and the USB cable has a nice cap. Buttons can quickly disconnect for easy replacement, and there is plenty of space for a dual mod kit.
The unit is quite good looking and does its namesake justice. The joystick and buttons match the BlazBlue art quite well. However, upon closer inspection, there is a little bit of warping in the plastic mold, making it prone to scratches, but one should always exercise proper care of any arcade stick regardless. Otherwise, BlazBlue fans should be quite pleased with the aesthetics of this arcade stick, and the symmetrical silhouette of it only adds to its simplistic beauty.
This is a solid arcade stick.
