Introduction

Otherwise known as El Clasico, the Handcrafted Birch Wood Hitbox is a third party rendition of the Smash Box. You can choose a wood stain or color as well as the button colors.

Performance

El Clasico comes with 23-24 mm Sanwa buttons that are known for responsivity and durability. The upper right buttons have a Noir layout. Sanwa buttons do not have to travel a long distance to register an input, but at the same time, you should not find yourself pressing them by accident, which is a win-win.

El Clasico can even have MX-style switches for a keyboard feel. Otherwise, El Clasico is compatible with Seimitsu, Crown, and GamerFinger buttons. Perhaps the only gripe is that the edges of El Clasico may feel rough.

Hardware

The half-inch Baltic birch that El Clasico is made of is quality. There is a hinge to open up El Clasico with ease. You can choose the PCB, and Brook boards are supported.

El Clasico ships with instructions on what the buttons do, suggestions on how to get comfortable with the controller, and a wiring diagram for customization & troubleshooting purposes. If El Clasico’s wires disconnect during shipping, just contact DanoBox for a fix.

Appearance

The wood that El Clasico is made of is beautiful. Again, you can choose a wood stain or color in addition to the button colors. The wood stains include:

  • Dark cherry
  • Gunstock
  • Navy
  • Sedona red
  • Walnut

Conclusion

Just ask DanoBox to smoothen the edges of your unit of El Clasico, and you should be good to go!

  • Sanwa buttons
  • Brook compatibility
  • Stain options
  • Color choices
  • Easy customization
