801 Workshop Fighting Game Controller (U/P)
Overview
This Hong Kong innovation, the The 801 Workshop Fighting Game Controller, is a mini hitbox with Cherry MX low-profile silver switches that have a 1 mm actuation distance. The hitbox initially started as a pad hack of the Hori Gaming Commander OCTA.
The printed circuit board (PCB) can either be a Brook Universal Fighting Board (UFB) with the UFB-UP5 attachment or the Raspberry Pi Pico, the latter of which gives you LED functionality in PC mode.
The port is USB-C, so have a USB-C cable handy, and the firmware is the open-source GP2040 V2. The control modes include D-pad, left analog, and right analog stick. The SOCD modes are up priority and last-input priority.
Here are the secondary button functions:
- Home
- Share
- Options
- Touchpad
- L3
- R3
If you would like to customize the art of this hitbox, custom artwork can go between the first and second layers. We at The Arcade Stick can offer you custom digital art through our custom artwork service.
